Harbin releases first local regulations on clean fuels
Harbin city of northeastern China’s Heilongjiang province has released local regulations on the use of clean fuels in automobiles, effective November 1, according to information from the Harbin Development and Reform Commission. The regulations provide a legal basis for clean fuel use in automobiles in Harbin city, the first of its kind in China. The rules identify clean fuels as all automobile fuels except for gasoline and diesel fuel, including compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, alcohol, ether, biodiesel, hydrogen fuel, and hybrid fuels. According to the rules, the location of clean fuel refilling stations should meet safety requirements and pass environmental evaluations. (October 20, 2009)
