Gull New Zealand produces new 85% bioethanol
Gull New Zealand has launched a new 85% bioethanol called Gull Force Pro. The new biofuel produces 35% to 50% fewer emissions than ordinary fuel. The Bioenergy Association of New Zealand (BANZ) says the new fuel could help New Zealand move towards a sustainable future and lower the country’s dependence on imported fossil fuel. Brian Cox, Executive Officer of BANZ, states that he welcomes the announcement of the new fuel particularly in light of the government’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Gull Force Pro can be used in E85 compatible vehicles and in the car racing industry. Cox states, “If New Zealand is serious about cutting emissions from private transport. Biofuel needs to take center stage in our everyday driving. This is the next step towards increasing the availability of high-percentage biofuels and cars that can run on them. Now is the time for motorists to seriously consider switching to biofuel and biofuel blends.” (April 14, 2011)
