Guangdong retail outlets grew by 731 in 2007

Southern Guangdong Province plans to build 139 service stations in the fourth quarter of 2007, which will bring the total number of new service stations in the province up to 731 for the whole year, state media reported. The government of Guangdong is encouraging domestic and foreign enterprises to join Guangdong’s oil product market, in an effort to relieve the shortage of oil products. The Guangdong government expects that the central government will pass appropriate policies that will allow these refiners to become direct oil suppliers to the province. (October 26, 2007)
