GS Yuasa to supply batteries to Peugeot, Mitsubishi

Japanese battery maker GS Yuasa Corp. will be supplying lithium ion batteries at its Shiga Prefecture plant to France’s PSA Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi Motors Corp. under a new agreement. GS Yuasa’s Shiga plant, Lithium Energy Japan, is part of a joint venture with Mitsubishi Motors and Mitsubishi Corp. The new electric cars to be produced by Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi are expected to reach the automotive market by the end of 2012. (April 8,2011)
