Groups oppose 10% ethanol blends
Oil refineries and marketing companies in Pakistan have opposed the introduction of 10% ethanol-blended gasoline, because it might discourage investments in additional refining capacity and projects to meet clean fuel quality specifications. The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) also opposed its introduction for old vehicles and proposed that the government instead introduce 3% ethanol-blended gasoline for use in vehicles, including motorcycles.
