GMI banks on alternative fuels
General Motors India (GMI) has stepped up efforts to launch more products powered by alternative fuels in the Indian market. According to GMI President Karl Slym, the company will launch a car powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the first half of this year. “In the first place, our strategy is to have high fuel-efficiency in all our vehicles. Then we will be introducing vehicles powered by (alternative) fuels like compressed natural gas (CNG) and LPG, besides having different powertrains and different displacements,” Slym said.
