GM India inaugurates new small car engine plant

The Indian unit of General Motors Co. inaugurated a new factory near Pune in western Maharashtra state to make gasoline and diesel engines for its small car models. GM India has invested more than US$230 million on the new factory, which will have an initial capacity of 160,000 engines a year, the company said. It said the factory is the first in the world which can make both gasoline and diesel engines simultaneously. (November 12, 2010)
