GM develops new turbo diesel engine at Indian plant

General Motors has announced that it has developed a new one liter three cylinder turbo diesel engine at its Talegaon plant in India. The new engine was developed by GM’s engineering center in Italy and India. The company plans to use the new engine in the Chevrolet Beat. Production is expected to begin by June at the Talegaon plant. (April 13, 2011)
