Gevo’s “fit-for-purpose” biofuel jet testing gets positive results

Gevo, Inc., a renewable and biofuel company based in Englewood, Colo., U.S.A., announced that it has received positive test results from the “fit-for-purpose” testing of its biojet fuel by ASTM’s alcohol-to-jet task force. Glenn Johnston, vice president of regulatory affairs for Gevo, said, “This is an extremely important step forward in the stage-gate approval process.  We are gratified that our colleagues on the task force cleared us to move forward with our biojet fuel certification effort.”  The task force involved in the testing included technical experts from jet engine manufacturers, governmental bodies, fuel manufacturers, third party testing laboratories, academics and airframe manufacturers.
