Geely to set up transmission plant in Shandong
The world’s second largest independent transmission company, Australia DSI (Drivetrain Systems International), which was acquired by Geely in 2009, will start production in China. The completion of this project will lead to an annual production capacity of 300,000 units of six-speed automatic transmission and 100,000 units of gasoline engines. Total investment in Geely’s transmission plant in Jining, Shandong, will reach 1.6 billion yuan (US$234.64 million). “At the end of this year, Vision will be the first vehicle model to come into the market with the new DSI transmission”, said An Huicong, vice president of Geely Holding Group.
