Fujian refinery splits expansion plan for quicker approval

China’s Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Co. (FRPC), the country’s biggest joint-venture refinery, plans to split into two phases its plan to double its crude processing capacity to 24 million metric tons a year by 2015 so as to get quicker approval for its proposal, a refinery source said. FRPC first plans to expand its CDU capacity by 4-16 million metric tons per year from the current 12 million metric tons per year, before it ups capacity to 24 million metric tons per year.
