Fuchs Lubricants receives ISO 21469 certification for Kansas facility
Fuchs Lubricants Co. announced that its Kansas City facility has received certification of “ISO 21469: Safety of Machinery – Lubricants with Incidental Product Contact – Hygiene Requirements” from NSF International. ISO 21469 is considered the most comprehensive safety standard for manufacturers of food grade lubricants. It requires specific hygienic formulation, manufacture, use and handling of lubricants that may come into “incidental contact” with food while it is being processed.
Fuchs will begin manufacturing its premium CASSIDA brand at the Kansas City facility. It has the distinction of having three ISO 21469 certified facilities. The company’s two other certified facilities are located in Europe.
“Certification to ISO 21469 provides our customers with evidence that we take food safety seriously,” said Hendrik Noth, Fuchs division manager for specialty lubricants in the U.S.A. He added, “The certification of our North American facility also shows our commitment to being the global leader in the food lubricants sector.” (October 25, 2012)
