Freudenberg to invest Rs 130 cr in Mysore unit
The Freudenberg Group plans to expand its chemical specialties unit at Mysore, in Southern India, by investing Rs 130 crore (US$23.2 million) by 2016 to increase the facility’s capacity from 3,000 tons per annum to 20,000 tons per annum. Freudenberg’s headquarters are located in Germany; the group manufactures specialty lubricants, release agents and maintenance products for the auto, energy and food industries under the brand names Kluber Lubrication, Chem-Trend and OKS. Freudenberg will also invest Rs 20 crore (US$3.56 million) in Eagle Burgmann Pvt Ltd, another company owned by the group. The expansion project will include the establishment of a new Research and Development Center, as well as increased capacity of the facility at Pune, in the state of Maharashtra. (June 21, 2012)
