Freudenberg Group to expand chemical specialties plant

The Freudenberg Group said it plans to invest Rs130 crore (US$23 million) for the expansion of its chemical specialties plant at Mysore in Karnataka, India, by 2016. The capacity of the plant will be expanded from 3,000 tons per annum (tpa) to 20,000 tpa. The plant currently manufactures specialty lubricants, release agents and maintenance products for the auto, energy and food industries, which are sold under the brand names Kluber Lubrication, Chem-Trend and OKS. The Freudenberg Group is also investing Rs20 crore (US$3.59 million) in another group company, EagleBurgmann, for the expansion of its capacity and the construction of a new R&D center at Pune.
