France’s Total to open first oil product retail outlet in Moscow
French energy company Total SA plans to open its first oil product retail outlet in Moscow in 2012, but has no further plans to construct a large-scale retail network in Russia, Pierre Nergararyan, former director of Total’s unit, Total Exploration Development Russia, said. Nergararyan was head of Total’s Russian unit since 2007 until February, when he was replaced by Jacques de Boisseson. “Of course, we are not talking about the creation of a large-scale retail network to sell fuel. It is more likely an image project. That is why we are very careful about choosing sites for our prospective filling stations. As they are launched, we will thoroughly inspect the quality of products offered and services provided,” he said. (March 14, 2012)
