Formosa Petrochemical appoints new president

Formosa Petrochemical Corp., a flagship company of Formosa Plastics Group, said its board has approved the appointment as company president of Tsao Mihn, former vice president of CPC Corp. The appointment comes after Su Chi-yi resigned in late July to take responsibility for a series of fires at a flagship petrochemical complex in southern Taiwan. Tsao’s appointment is effective November 9. On September 15, the board approved the appointment of a new chairman, Chen Bao-lang, to replace Wilfred Wang, who also resigned in late July, following the fires at the complex. (November 9, 2011)
