Ford to invest US$217 million for new factory in Brazil

Following Ford Motor Co.’s announcement in early December of an R$800 million (US$458.8 million) investment for the production of a new model in Brazil, the company announced it will invest R$400 million (US$229 million) to construct a new factory at its existing Camaçari industrial complex in the state of Bahia. The factory will have a capacity of 210,000 units annually. The investments are part of the company’s R$4.5 billion (US$2.5 billion) investment plan through 2015. (December 21, 2011)
