Ford to focus on APA region

Because of robust customer demand and the company’s own expansion programs, Ford Motor Co. expects Asia-Pacific and Africa (APA) to comprise a third of its global sales by 2020. At the moment, the company gets 17% of its global sales from the region, which includes India, Australia, China, Thailand and South Africa. The company said it will introduce 50 new products in the APA region till 2020. Ford is currently building seven new vehicle and engine plants in China, Thailand and India. (September 20, 2011)
