Ford reduces engine production by 25%

Ford has announced that it is reducing engine production at its Geelong (Australia) facility by 25%. Production will be reduced from 240 units per day (upd) to 190 upd as a result of reduced demand for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) engines. However, the reduction will not lead to job losses. Ford has been witnessing a slump in demand for LPG-powered vehicles. This reduction is intended to align output with demand in the country. (December 10, 2010)
