F&L Asia to honor Dr. C.S. Warren Huang with Award of Recognition
F&L Asia Ltd. announced that they will be honoring the contributions to the fuels and lubricants industry of Afton Chemical Vice Chairman Dr. C.S. Warren Huang, by presenting him with the F+L Award of Recognition on March 14, 2013, in Bangkok, Thailand, during F+L Week. The yearly industry conference will be held from March 11-15, 2013 at the Millenium Hilton Bangkok.
“We are excited to be giving out the first award of recognition to Dr. Huang,” explained Vicky Villena-Denton, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of F&L Asia Ltd. “He has spent decades as an important part of the industry, and he has been instrumental in helping it to grow.” Based in Hong Kong, F&L Asia has been at the forefront of initiating and guiding discussions on the fuels and lubricants industry in the region since 1995.
Dr. Huang will be honored for his professional achievements in the industry, which include serving as President of Afton Chemical Corp. from 2004 until December 2012. His career in the industry spans more than three decades, serving in such pivotal positions as Vice President of R&D Worldwide, Managing Director of Asia Pacific, and Senior Vice President of Fuel Additives.
Dr. Huang aided Afton Chemical in experiencing dramatic growth, helping the company reach a US$2.1 billion revenue and an operating profit of more than US$300 million in 2011. Born in Taiwan, Dr. Huang holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa., and an EMBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., both in the United States.
“We couldn’t think of a more deserving person at this time to be honored for all he has contributed to this industry,” added Ms. Denton. “We look forward to the March conference so that we can present it to him.”
F+L Week 2013 will cover the latest developments in base oils, lubricants, fuels and additives. There will be two courses offered at the conference.
