First stage testing shows high potential for new biofuel
Telgenco, a Cambridge, U.K.-based company, completed the first stage testing of a new biofuel developed by Hycagen Ltd. The fuel is called Hycadiesel, which was produced using the enzyme fuel generation process of Cambridge, U.K.-based Hycagen Ltd. Telgenco CEO Simon Albury said, “Our first stage testing at a variety of concentrations up to 100% shows that the fuel performs exactly as predicted.” Hycagen CEO Alan D. Roth said, “We have developed Hycadiesel specifically to offer an engineered biofuel with enhanced properties to address a range of markets including the fixed power one.” Telgenco is a subsidiary of Pasmarine Limited. The company develops and markets generators, as well as generator management systems for telecom operators. Since it started in 2008, Hycagen has developed several fuels using its proprietary enzyme and catalyst-based processes. (September 8, 2011)
