Fiat India to raise production
Fiat India Automobiles Ltd. (FIAL) said that the company would raise production at its Ranjangaon plant in 2010. “Our current installed capacity at the engine plant is 320,000 units per year and the company is presently manufacturing 150,000 units. Next year, we will increase the production up to 165,000 units,” said FIAL President Rajeev Kapoor. The facility at Ranjangaon manufactures Fiat 1.3 liter diesel engines and 1.2 and 1.4 liter gasoline engines. Apart from Fiat cars, the facility will also produce Tata passenger and next generation cars. (October 28, 2009)
