Fiat executive confident about 2025 goals
Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of Fiat SpA and Chrysler Group LLC, said he is confident that auto makers can achieve the 2025 fuel economy goals proposed by the U.S. government. The proposal seeks to boost average fuel economy of new trucks and cars to 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025. It also calls for a 5% annual average increase in fuel economy for cars and a 3.5% increase for light trucks until 2012. Beyond 2012, both cars and light trucks face a 5% annual increase.
