ExxonMobil’s Japanese division reopens terminal
ExxonMobil Corp.’s Japanese division has reopened its Shiogama Terminal, enabling the delivery of increased fuel supplies to the Tohoku area of Japan that was devastated by the earthquake and tsunami on March 11. The oil company said the terminal received its first shipment of 1 million liters of gasoline and 1 million liters of kerosene, to be used as heating fuel, on March 22. ExxonMobil affiliate refiner TonenGeneral Sekiyu K.K. said the reopening restores the most critical link to the affected area. The company said its four Japan Group refineries are now fully operational and running ahead of their normal rates to meet the increased demand for fuel. (March 24,2011)
