ExxonMobil to boost ULSD output in Singapore
ExxonMobil Corp. plans to build a diesel hydrotreater at its 605,000-barrel-a-day Singapore refining complex to boost output of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD) by 2014. ExxonMobil’s new diesel hydrotreater–to be built on Jurong Island–will boost output of ULSD by 9 million liters per day (lpd), or about 56,000 barrels per day (bpd). By 2014, the refinery will have a production capacity of more than 25 million lpd or about 157,000 bpd of ULSD. “The decision to move forward with the engineering and construction of the diesel hydrotreater at our Singapore refinery reflects both the increasing demand for diesel fuel in the region and ExxonMobil’s confidence in Singapore’s business climate,” Chris Erickson, vice president for planning and project execution, said in a statement. Feasibility studies and early design work on the new unit have been completed, the company said. (November 23, 2010)
