ExxonMobil nears completion of expanded Singapore petrochemical plant
ExxonMobil Corp. is getting near to completing its expanded petrochemical facility in Singapore, one of the company’s biggest projects in its corporate history. The new plant signals the focus the company is making on its chemical division. The Singapore expansion will produce household products and plastics and will increase the company’s chemical output by more than 11%. According to Karen Matusic, company spokesperson, the new facility will be able to process hundreds of different liquid feedstocks such as ethane and heavy oils, up from 80 before the expansion. The new petrochemical facilities in Singapore will be integrated with its adjacent refinery. (June 1, 2011)
