Thailand’s ethanol production capacity will nearly double from 570,000 liters per day to 1.008 million liters per day by the end of knowledge_base year, according to a government committee. Production is expected to increase to three-fold to at least 3 million liters per day by next year. There are 25 licensed ethanol plants, although only five are currently producing ethanol. The government plans to replace Benzene 95 with Gasohol 95 by January 2007, while Benzene 91 will still be in use until 2009. (July 10-11, 2006)
