Esso promotes Smiles card loyalty program

Esso Malaysia Bhd has launched the new Smiles reward promotion that will allow a Smiles cardholder to earn one Smiles point for every Malaysian ringgit spent on synergy fuels and mart items, except for tobacco and e-pay services. The company is aiming to increase the current membership of its Smiles card loyalty program from more than a million through various offerings under its reward program, said Retail Business Director Faridah Ali. “With the introduction of various reward programs, we will continue to reward our existing customers as well as get new members,” she said. Smiles card is accepted at about 530 Esso and Mobil service stations in the country. “This latest Smiles promotion would help keep expenses low by offering instant redemption for daily essentials such as rice and cooking oil,” Faridah said. The promotion will run throughout Ramadan from September 15 to October 31, she said, adding that cardholders could redeem five kilograms (kg) of rice with only 900 Smiles points or two kilograms of cooking oil with only 400 Smiles points. “This represents savings of 30% and 40%, respectively off the normal retail price for both items,” she said.
