Esso modifying Sriracha plant to meet regulations

Esso (Thailand) will spend US$394 million on the Sriracha Clean Fuels Project (SCFP) to cope with regulatory changes in product specifications for gasoline and diesel fuels. Managing Director Robert Michael Cooper said that the company’s board of directors has approved the investment in SCFP. Construction is expected to be completed in 15 months. Cooper said the SCFP will enable the refinery to meet the regulatory mandate for revised fuel specifications, which will be mandatory by January 1, 2012. Commercial operation is scheduled at that time. (July 17, 2010)
