Essar to expand Khambalia refinery

India’s privately owned Essar Oil says it will invest US$100 million on expanding and upgrading its crude refinery at Khambalia, Gujarat state. The refinery will be expanded from 10.5 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) to 16 million MTPA by 2009. After the expansion, the refinery will produce large volumes of other fuels such as liquefied petroleum gas, jet fuel, kerosene, fuel oil and bitumen. (May 9, 2007)
