Energy Minister updates on developments in Myanmar

Myanmar’s Energy Minister, Than Htay, in an interview with Reuters, disclosed that the country currently has two international sites: Yadana which is operated by France’s Total Myanmar Exploration and Production with a consortium composed of Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, PTTEP, and America’s Unocal; and Yetagun, which is operated by Petronas of Malaysia, with a consortium composed of Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, PTTEP, and Japan’s Nippon Oil. The energy minister also clarified that despite publicized opposition to the Myanmar-China pipeline project, it is on schedule and will be completed in 2013.
