Emery Oleochemicals Japan targets tripling sales

Emery Oleochemicals Japan is targeting to triple annual sales to about 15 billion yen (US$162.42 million) in 2013, from the current level, as its Malaysian parent is expanding its supply, and its sales network is being strengthened this year with the addition of a distributor and the opening in May of an Osaka office. The Tokyo-based company is developing its business in three core segments: fatty acids and glycerin, ozone acids and plastics additives. Its parent company is Emery Oleochemicals, which was known as Cognis Oleochemicals until a name change in May 2009, after becoming a joint venture between PTT Chemical, Thailand’s largest petrochemical manufacturer, and Sime Darby, Malaysia’s largest palm-oil producer.
