Dekopin joins hands to develop jatropha plantation
The Indonesian Cooperatives Council (Dekopin) has joined hands with a South Korean company, Biomass Korea Co. Limited, to develop jatropha plantations in Indonesia on 150,000 hectares in East Java. The biodiesel fuel will be sold to the local market and the international market, especially South Korea. For a start, a mini plant will be built with a US$30 million investment. Dekopin Coordinator for Action Program Bambang W. Suharto, representing Dekopin, was at the signing, together with President Director of Biomass Korea Co. Limited, Jeong Woo Lee. (August 23, 2007)
