Dalian to become China's largest oil refining base

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Dalian Petrochemical Co. Ltd. succeeded in the trial operations of Asia’s largest 2.2 metric ton continuous catalytic reforming (CCR) unit. The unit is the core equipment of Dalian Petrochemical’s sulfurous oil technical upgrade project. The project includes seven sets of manufacturing equipment and ancillary systems and involves a total investment of 10.7 billion yuan (US$1.6 billion). After it starts operating, Dalian Petrochemical’s first and secondary processing capacity will be 20.5 metric tons per year, becoming the largest oil-refining base in China.  (June 27, 2008)
