Dalby Ethanol Bio-Refinery acquired by United Petroleum

Australia’s Dalby Ethanol Bio-Refinery, a grains-to-ethanol facility in Dalby, Queensland, which went into receivership in June 2010 has been acquired by United Petroleum. United Petroleum, based in Abbotsford, Victoria, operates a network of about 300 service stations across Australia. David Szymczak, general manager at United Petroleum, says the company “plans to operate the plant at full capacity and work with the business to improve production in the future. The Dalby acquisition is a long-term investment and United Petroleum has plans to inject further capital in the plant.” The Dalby Ethanol Bio-Refinery is one of only three major ethanol plants in Australia. Details of the acquisition were not provided. (May 25,2011)
