Dalby Bio-Refinery overcomes initial teething problems
Seven months since it started production, the Dalby Bio-Refinery in Queensland, Australia has fine-tuned the initial hurdles it faced in production and product storage, according to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kevin Endres. “There were issues earlier in the year because customers who had committed to buying our product didn’t take the agreed amount and this meant our storage facilities were at full capacity,” Endres said. The refinery is now operating at about 90 percent capacity and producing ethanol, syrup (often used to feed cattle in place of molasses) and wet distillers’ grain. (September 29, 2009)
