D1 sees greater demand for crude jatropha oil
Demand for crude jatropha oil (CJO) is increasing, possibly due to the continued upward trend in global vegetable oil and mineral oil prices. U.K.-based D1 Oils recently reported it has sold 500 tons of CJO, which is all of its production in the last six months. The selling price for each ton is approximately US$975. D1 now has a backlog of orders for the CJO. D1 has been marketing CJO heavily in central, northeast and northwest India, Zambia and Indonesia. D1 expects to be able to deliver 1,200 tons of CJO this harvest season. (March 2, 2011)
