Cummins sells light duty filtration operations

Cummins Inc. (CMI) has entered into an agreement with Industrial Opportunity Partners, LLC, (IOP). Under the agreement, Cummins will sell its light duty filtration operations to IOP, the private equity firm based in Evanston, Ill., U.S.A. The sale will affect several of Cummins operations in Findlay, Ohio; Bloomer, Wisconsin; Sao Paulo, Brazil and Shanghai, China. These operations specialize in providing a wide range of filtration products for diesel engines. The sale will give Cummins Filtration room to focus on manufacturing filtration products that are vital to the company’s growth. Joseph Saoud, President — Cummins Filtration said, “Selling this part of our light duty filtration operations to a strong buyer like Industrial Opportunity Partners provides Kuss and the business in Bloomer with the opportunity to grow while allowing us to concentrate on markets that are core to Cummins long-range growth plans.” (September 9, 2011)
