Cummins breaks ground on China Plant
Cummins Inc. said it expects to start producing fuel pumps, fuel systems and related components for diesel engines at its new plant in Wuhan, Hubei province, in western China, by the end of 2008, according to Xiong Zhenhong, plant general manager. Cummins, which is headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, broke ground at the US$10 million plant recently. The plant is Cummins third fuel system plant; two other such plants are located in the U.S. and Mexico. The company manufactures engines and related technologies, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems. (June 11, 2007)
