Cummins appoints Rumsey vice president of engineering for heavy, medium and light duty products

Cummins Inc. announced the appointment of Jennifer Rumsey as vice president–engineering heavy, medium light duty products, effective February 1.
Rumsey received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with highest honors from Purdue University in 1996. In 1998, she received a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Rumsey was a technical project leader in midrange engineering from 2007 to 2009, where she was also given an assignment that addressed turbo quality. Between her midrange and heavy duty roles, Rumsey was also member of the Cummins Turbo Technologies (CTT) business team.
She held multiple roles earlier in her career in Cummins, where she was involved in the Advanced Engineering organization, starting in Advanced Controls, Aftertreatment Technology Development, and as the Tier 4 Interim Product Preceding Technology (PPT) leader. She worked for Nuvera Fuel Cells where she led control system development and system integration for fuel processing/fuel cell technology before joining Cummins full time.
Rumsey has received a number of awards including the Cummins Chairman’s Quality Award for her Six Sigma work, Society of Automotive Engineers International Association of Equipment Manufacturers Outstanding Young Engineer Award, and 40 under 40 up-and-coming Purdue Alumni by the Purdue Alumnus.
