CTL plant to produce 500,000 tons of oil products this year

Chinese coal major Shenhua Group’s flagship coal-to-liquids (CTL) project in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is likely to produce around 500,000 metric tons of oil products this year, Zhang Wenjiang, the company’s assistant general manager, said. Products from the direct CTL project, which has been operating commercially since May, include gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied petroleum gas, Zhang said. The Shenhua project has an initial planned annual output of 1.08 million tons of synthetic fuel, which will eventually be ramped up to 3 million tons a year. (September 16, 2010)
