CPC to commission new diesel unit in October

Taiwan’s refiner CPC Corp. will commission a new diesel hydrodesulfurizer with a daily capacity of 40,000 barrels in Dalin, north of Yulin County, in mid-October, in a bid to increase its capability to produce low-sulfur products, a company executive said. Taiwanese fuel retailers are legally required to sell diesel fuel containing a maximum of 20 parts per million (ppm) sulfur from July 2011 and 10 ppm maximum sulfur content gasoline from January 2012. CPC owns three refineries in Taoyuan, Dalin and Kaohsiung, with a total crude processing capacity of 720,000 barrels per day. (August 20, 2010)
