CPC stations affected by typhoon to reopen gradually
State-run CPC Corp., Taiwan, said that because of Typhoon Morakot, 35 CPC-owned gas stations were shut down temporarily, while four of its industrial clients in Kaohsiung and Pingtung Counties experienced liquid natural gas (LNG) outages. CPC has delegated other vendors to supply substitute LNG in the meantime. In related news, CPC will delay its fuel price adjustment by one week to Friday to minimize disruptions following the typhoon, as ordered by Taiwan’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Yiin Chii-ming. CPC’s price for a liter of 98-octane unleaded gasoline will remain at NT$30.5 (US$0.95) for another week, while the price of 95-octane unleaded gasoline will stay at NT$29.0 (US$0.90) and 92-octane unleaded gasoline will remain at NT$28.3 (US$0.88) per liter.
