CPC plans major revamp
Taiwan’s state-run oil and gas entity CPC Corp. announced that it would shut down both its reformers at its 300,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery in Talin, southern Taiwan, in 2009 for major revamping. This will raise the capacity of each reformer unit to 39,000 bpd from the current 30,000 bpd. One of the two reformers will be shut down for three months starting mid-February, while the other reformer will be offline for three months starting August. No other major maintenance plans are scheduled for Talin. (January 20, 2009)
