Cognis opens new APG facility in China

Global specialty chemicals supplier Cognis opened a new production facility for alkyl polyglucoside (APG) surfactants in Jinshan, China. Richard Ridinger, executive vice president, Care Chemicals said the new facility complements Cognis’ existing plants in Germany and the U.S., and improves global availability of their APG surfactants. Cognis is the world’s largest supplier of the original APG surfactants made from renewable plant-derived materials such as vegetable oils and starch. (May 28, 2010)
