CNPC’s new refinery in Chad is on stream
China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) said its new one-million-ton joint venture refinery in N’djamena, Chad, is fully operational. The new refinery is Chad’s first refinery and will help in bringing energy independence to the country. The commissioning ceremony which was held on June 29 was attended by Chadian President Idriss Deby and Prime Minister Emmanuel Nadingar, CNPC President Jiang Jiemin and PetroChina Vice President Bo Qiliang. The new refinery produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and polypropylene. (July 1,2011)
