CNPC to provide jatropha oil for Air China test flight

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) will provide 15 tons of jatropha oil for Air China’s biofuel-powered test flight.  The test flight which will occur later this year will involve a trans-Pacific demonstration flight which will be partially powered by biofuel.  A 747 powered by Pratt & Whitney engines is expected to be used for the test flight.  Air China’s test flight follows other biofuel-powered flights conducted by other international airlines including Virgin Atlantic, Air New Zealand and Continental Airlines.  (June 28, 2011)
