CNOOC to idle hydrotreater at Huizhou refinery
China National Offshore Oil Corp., or CNOOC, plans to idle a 3.6 million metric ton per year (MTPY) gasoil and kerosene hydrotreating unit at the Huizhou refinery in south China’s Guangdong province on August 20 for a 22-day scheduled maintenance, a refinery source said. The refinery plans to process 900,000 metric tons of crude oil in August, 7.22% lower than the 970,000 metric tons processed in July. The Huizhou refinery is designed to process heavy crude, with high acidic content, from CNOOC’s blocks in the Bohai Bay. (August 6, 2010)
