CNOOC to idle hydrotreater at Huizhou refinery  

China National Offshore Oil Corp., or CNOOC, plans to idle a 3.6 million metric ton per year (MTPY) gasoil and kerosene hydrotreating unit at the Huizhou refinery in south China’s Guangdong province on August 20 for a 22-day scheduled maintenance, a refinery source said. The refinery plans to process 900,000 metric tons of crude oil in August, 7.22% lower than the 970,000 metric tons processed in July.  The Huizhou refinery is designed to process heavy crude, with high acidic content, from CNOOC’s blocks in the Bohai Bay.
