CNOOC to build 1,000 petrol stations in 3 years
China National Offshore Oil Corp. plans to open 1,000 petrol stations in the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Bohai Rim Bay before 2010, said Huang Xinqing, manager from the distribution branch of CNOOC Ltd. The Shihuaxi station, CNOOC’s first of 30 filling stations planned for the area around Huizhou city, has sold up to 40 tons (54.26 Liters) per day, which is way above the projected target of 15 or 16 tons (20.35 or 21.70 Liters), according to Huang. The 240,000 barrel-per-day Huizhou Refinery, due to come on stream in 2008, is slated to produce 3.56 million tons (4.8 million Liters) of high quality diesel fuel, 1.25 million tons (1.7 million Liters) of gasoline and 2.1 million (2.85 million Liters) tons of jet fuel annually.
