Clearwater Racing partners with Motul
Global lubricant specialist, French-based Motul, has formed a new technical partnership with the most successful South East Asia GT racing team of the last decade, Clearwater Racing.
The team will in 2013 be the first to race in Asia with the highly successful McLaren MP4-12C GT3, and the new agreement extends Motul’s involvement with the prestige sportscar marquee following their existing partnerships with Hexis Racing and ART Grand Prix in Europe.
Based in Singapore, just as Motul Asia Pacific’s headquarters are, the two companies have many synergies and are recognized as being benchmarks for excellence in performance in their individual fields. The defending GT Asia champions will this year be racing in the full 2013 championship, heading to six of the best circuits in Asia to compete in a total of 11 rounds between May and November.
Gregoire Zaugg, sales and marketing director of Motul Asia Pacific, explained the reasoning behind the new partnership. “Motul’s incremental expansion in multiple Asian markets is important in reinforcing our positioning of premium products. On top of sharing the passion that racing fans have across the world, it is important for us to remain as a reference point in racing, which has long been a key for Motul’s success,” he said.
The technical collaboration with Clearwater Racing, an impressively successful team, and McLaren’s, is a strong asset, he said. “As usual, we will be making every effort to make this partnership successful for all parties.”
